What is stoicism?
Stoicism is a philosophy that originated in ancient Greece and was developed by philosophers such as Zeno of Citium, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. It is a philosophy of personal ethics and practical advice on how to live a fulfilling life.
At its core, stoicism teaches that we should focus on the things that we can control in life, such as our thoughts and actions, and let go of things that are outside of our control, such as external events and other people's opinions. It also emphasizes the importance of self-control, rationality, and the cultivation of virtues such as wisdom, courage, and justice.
Stoicism has had a significant influence on Western thought and has been embraced by many people seeking to improve their lives and find meaning and purpose in a chaotic world.
